Newest Art!

I’ve been working on these “shrines” or “reliquaries” lately.  I’m finding them really fun and interesting.  I’ve been constructing the houses and then paper macheing them to get the structures to a pretty solid state.  Then i’m going in with paint, felt, wax, old photos, and different objects that I think suit the piece.  Each one has its own story that relates to my life and my memories.  Stories to come!

Todays nude painting!

Is it weird that I have daily nude paintings?  Oh well.

The Holiday Sale is happening at ECU starting THIS Thursday.  I’m going to have lots of little things for sale including earrings, hair pieces, hand painted ornaments, large paintings and mini paintings!  I took a few pictures of some of the mini paintings I’ll have for sale!  These are all 4in. x 4in. I have a ton of old photographs and am using them in some of the fun stuff (copies of the old photographs).  These are all really simple pieces and I’m going to sell them SUPER CHEAP…like, 5 bucks each!  Hope you don’t hate them.  If you do, don’t tell me.  I will cry.

ECU School of Art and Design is going to be having their annual Christmas sale starting on Thursday!  I’ve been making lots of felted things for the sale including earrings like these!  Yay!

I think i’m going to call them my hairy balls.  Fuzzy balls might go over a little better.

Work in progress.  The beginning stages of a painting of an angry little girl.

Paintings this month!  I’m working on a series of 4 old photos all of the same family.  Just trying to experiment with painting the photos while still washing them out like memories.

Textile work this week!  Felting and silk painting.

Oh yeaaaaaaaaah so delicious.
